Solange, Beyoncé's cool, Brooklyn-dwelling younger sister, has teamed up with Puma and Opening Ceremony on a capsule of colorful sneakers. The styles are riffs on Puma's Disc Baze sneaker, which was previously only available in men's sizes. "I've noticed the gender lines have crossed so much when it comes to sneakers," said Solange. "Women are wearing men's sneakers, and I can't tell you how many men have asked me if the Discs from my collection will come in larger sizes so they can rock them as well."
According to WWD, the singer drew inspiration from Brazil on the shoes, which were designed with the aid of up-and-comers Gerlan Marcel (of Gerlan Jeans), Darlene and Lizzy Okpo and Hisham Bharoocha. Opening Ceremony has the exclusive on the launch, and two styles are already available online: the burlap rainbow sneakers (pictured above) and the tire sneakers in lime (below). Both retail for $150. At the end of the month, the collection will also debut in Nordstrom stores and at Fred Segal in Los Angeles.
