Old Navy has pants on the brain for spring, and it's hoping that actress and comedian Amy Poehler will help get shoppers pumped for them. Poehler stars in a new spot for the brand's super-strech Pixie Pants, which come in 13 colors, cost a mere $25 and in many ways remind us of J.Crew's similarly-feminine-named Minnie pants.
"I'm basically the Daniel Day Lewis of commercials," Poehler said to People about the ad, in which she plays a ridiculous executive in a law office who is captivated by the pants of a woman she's interviewing for a job. "I'm going to be playing a bunch of different characters and you know I disappear when I play my characters."
Aside from the fact that the commercial features an outfit that would be completely inappropriate to wear to an interview at a law firm (tight pants and a fitted white T-shirt?), the commercial seems like a gigantic step up most Old Navy ads such as this one. Thoughts?
