Your living room is about to get a whole lot cuter: indie e-comm shop Of a Kind has hooked up with Target for a collection of home decor products by American-based brands, including wall art by Dealtry, animal bookends and wall hooks by Wolfum, and coasters, soap dishes, flasks, toothbrushes, and balsam pillows by Izola.
All three brands are well-known to regular Of a Kind shoppers, but the national Target platform will allow the designers to tap into a much larger customer base. The collection is rolling out in 350 Target stores nationwide (here's a handy map) but there aren't plans to stock it online right now.
The Of a Kind announcement is the latest move in Target's ongoing quest to stand above the crowd of traditional big-box retailers. It recently linked up with six American menswear designers for a capsule collection called "Target Collective" and, before that, partnered with Story, an NYC-based concept shop, for a holiday collection.
