Luxury brands are famously way, way behind the times when it comes to online shopping, but it looks like Chanel is finally taking the plunge. According to an am report, Chanel's e-commerce launch is slated to happen by September 2016. As of now, concrete details on what exactly the brand's platform will look like have yet to be revealed.
"It's not so much a shift. It's an evolution to better serve our customers," Bruno Pavlovsky, Chanel's President of Fashion, said. "Some of the customers are able to come into the boutique. Sometimes they don't want to because they want to go faster and they know exactly what they want, so it should be able to better respond to the customers' requests. So it's more e-service than a pure e-commerce approach."
