"I love stripes. You can never really go wrong with stripes." That's what filmmaker Gia Coppola (niece of Sofia Coppola) says in a video for her new collab with Everlane.
She really took that phrase to heart for the Everlane capsule collection, which consists — literally — of just stripes. There are striped tees, striped tanks, striped shorts, and a very cozy looking striped romper.
Even though we've already reached our quota of striped T-shirts and then some, and the pieces lean a little "baby clothes for grown ups" (remember Hanna Andersson?), we can't help but feel tempted by the summery collection. Contrasted with white, the bright orange, red, and crisp navy stripes are pretty bright and fun by Everlane's minimalist standards.
The girls in Gia's Venice Beach-inspired, Blood Orange-soundtracked video style their Everlane stripes with white Birkenstocks, overalls, white shorts, dad hats, and Vans with socks — which also seems like fail-safe summer outfit material.
