Lady Gaga is the latest victim in the Tim Gunn smackdown-rampage. He told Yahoo's OMG: "Who would want to emulate that? It's not fashion. Those are costumes."
Hm. We'd like to hear him say that to the faces of Giorgio Armani, Nicola Formichetti, Gareth Pugh, Hussein Chalayan, Chanel, Jeremy Scott, Alexander McQueen, Philip Treacy, Christian Louboutin, Calvin Klein, Dolce & Gabbana and all the other designers whose clothes Lady Gaga wears.
If those designers are "not fashion," we'd like to know who Tim Gunn thinks "is fashion." (Besides himself, that is.) Also, we're beginning to think that Gunn doesn't have a nice word for anybody. He's already slagged off his producers, talks smack about Lindsay Lohan, the Real Housewives of DC, and Suri Cruise, called Vogue a monkey house, said that Isaac Mizrahi is a "terrible person," and says that Conde Nast ought to put its employees in straitjackets. Oh, and it all started with that story about Anna Wintour that he can't stop gleefully repeating, ad nauseam, since June.
