This is Irony: Ryan McGinley Collaborates with Pringle, Makes Clothes

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

Check out the newest offering from photographer Ryan McGinley—and no, it's not a bunch of naked skinny hipsters jumping off a cliff somewhere in the midwest. Pringle of Scotland has collaborated with the Serpentine Gallery to create a limited-run series of knitwear inspired by artists including Douglas Gordon and Richard Wright, Ryan McGinley, David Shrigley, Kostas Murkudis for Andreas Murkudis, and Tilda Swinton. Only 195 of this "John" cardigan by McGinley are available.
