Chanel Chanel Chanel, our kingdom for a Chanel. From what we can tell from our desks Stateside, the Chanel spring 2011 show wins hands-down as the spectacle of the season. Not only did Karl Lagerfeld have super-male-model Brad Kroenig walk the runway with his toddler son—"In matching cream/blk braid Chanel jkts and denim," tweeted the Telegraph's Hilary Alexander—but the NY Times' Cathy Horyn declared it a "Fabulous Show!" Yes, that's an exclamation point!
Horyn wasn't the only fashion critic excited by what she saw. Dolly Jones from Vogue UK tweeted: "Don't really want to see another show after Chanel, it was so amazing, anything else might feel flat." We're also obsessed with the tweets coming from backstage. Model Coco Rocha tweeted before the show: "FACTS: Ines de la Fressange, Karls 1980's muse returns to Chanel today—An 80 piece orchestra plays—Each models walk will take 5 mins!!"

Kitted out to look like the gardens at Versailles, Lagerfeld & Co. transformed Paris' Grand Palais into one of the most elaborate sets anyone's seen this fashion month—truth be told, he was under sort of a lot of pressure to top his Swedish iceberg from last season.

When Ines de la Fressange, the face of Chanel in the 1980s, made her triumphant return to the runway, the entire audience burst into applause.
