Anyone remember those CD clubs—CDs, OMG—from the '90s where every month companies like BMG and Columbia House would send you an album you probably didn't want and you could either send it back within 14 days or get billed $29.99 for it? Welcome to the celebrity accessory version of that.
Kate Bosworth and stylist pal Cher Coulter have just launched a costume jewelry subscription service called Jewelmint.com. After taking a style quiz, Jewelmint will recommend a new piece of costume jewelry to you each month—and you'll have the option to buy it for $29.99. It's sort of like a commitment-free personal jewelry shopping experience, sort of.
Last year, Kim Kardashian launched a similar service—but hawking shoes instead of jewels. Kardashian's company, ShoeDazzle.com, will send you a different shoe recommendation every month. You can choose to purchase the shoes for $39.95 or choose to opt out.
This new celebrity-endorsed subscription home shopping thing possesses pretty much endless possibilities. What's next? Jersey Shore hair extension subscriptions? We wait with bated breath.
