Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.
Check out Foursquare founders Dennis Crowley and Naveen Selvadurai—omg Racked's officemates!—in the brand-new just-released Gap holiday campaign. The commercial also features former first-niece Lauren Bush, boyfriend of Natalie Portman Benjamin Millepied, blogger Susie Bubble, and actor Donald Glover.
From the release:
Giving Causes What they Want: Gap is offering fans a way to give back through a series of video vignettes, on Gap's Facebook Fan page and YouTube channel, that features a cast of influential artists, dancers, actors, musicians and entrepreneurs from the campaign including actor Reeve Carney, style blogger Susie Bubble, dancer and choreographer Benjamin Millepied and Foursquare founders Dennis Crowley and Naveen Selvadurai opening up about their personal causes. Each time a fan “Likes” a video, it will trigger a $1 donation to the charity featured in the video, up to $150,000. The fan will get an added treat—30% off one regularly priced item at Gap.
