The four horsemen of the apocalypse, er, of Ralph Lauren's Big Pony fragrances splashed across the exterior of the Ralph Lauren flagship store on Madison Avenue in New York last night in a 4D light show. Using architectural video mapping technology (yeah, we don't know what that is, either), the show started with stars shooting out the windows and down Madison Avenue. Fifteen scenes kept the crowd riveted for the ten-minute presentation. Highlights included: the building quickly transforming into a luxurious hall with a catwalk where four-story-tall models walked, and giant Ralph Lauren accessories—ties, a belt, a bag and watches—that wrapped and flapped around the façade.
Near the finale, the slo-mo polo players appeared, clip-clopped and hit polo balls of light down Madison, and their images seamlessly attached themselves onto the Big Pony collection bottles, all shiny and numbered! The finale ended with a "we're NOT Abercrombie, because we have designated spritzing areas, but kind of because we're still spraying the fragrance" moment, the scents were spritzed onto the crowd and Ralph Lauren's image appeared, waving from one of the windows, like a designer pope. — Christianna Ablahad
