Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

Black Friday isn't just for Friday anymore; is stretching their deals to last this entire week. Their Black Friday page already launched, with an attempt to generate buying fervor by including limited-time sale items, complete with countdown clocks.
Right now, for instance, Twilight DVDs are up to 74% off and The Complete First Season of Gossip Girl is only $13.99, for a little over the next hour at least. But of course there's still the usual Black Friday items available all week; HDTVs, GPS units, world atlases and men's watches we can always count on. So much for Cyber Monday. [Amazon]
