Chinese tourists have flocked to Paris to shop it for years, but now Galeries Lafayette is coming to them, with a Beijing branch in 2014. The French department store is partnering with I.T of Hong Kong to get things done, and the Beijing branch is only the beginning. "Besides Beijing, the [joint venture] will set up more stores in Chinese major cities, such as Shanghai, Macao, Tianjin, Chengdu, Hangzhou and Nanjing...[marking] the year China is expected to be named the world's top luxury-goods consumer."
