Move over Playboy! Kim Kardashian is on a publicity tear—getting her press on with legit fashion industry publications. So far this month, her face (and other body parts) are emblazoned on the cover of W and today Kardashian gets her own major story in WWD. Looks like the fashion industry establishment just can't continue ignoring her anymore. (What's next? A Vogue cover?)
The WWD profile speaks only to Kim, the middle of the three now-notorious Kardashian sisters (there's also younger brother Rob and two half-sisters Kendall and Kylie Jenner). It's the eldest three—Kim, Kourtney, and Khloe, who are busy building this burgeoning fashion empire and transforming the Kardashian name from reality-TV and tabloid fodder into a lifestyle brand.
"My sisters and I are working on a line, a lifestyle brand that will launch next year," Kardashian told WWD. "I think that’s something we’re going to be really excited [about], to hopefully build this great brand and empire in the clothing world."
"I feel like my brand is a brand for the fans, my fans, because I just give them what they’re asking. Being a little bit ahead of the curve. It’s like, ‘What lip gloss do you use?’ ‘OK, well, this is what I really use.’ And skin care and fragrance. I feel like I have a great relationship with my fans and they’ve really gravitated toward the products I am using."
