Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

What's this? Has Marc Jacobs gone vegan with 100% animal-free bags? While it's true that the Marc by Marc Jacobs collection includes a small selection of PVC bags with a faux ostrich finish, it's not likely that a vegan mini-collection will stick.

The "Ozzie Square Smith" bag shown above rings in at $358 on ShopBop, which is a far cry from the four digits of the BB, perhaps the most famous (real) ostrich Marc Jacobs bag.
