Horse-Bombing Ralph's New Digs

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

Ralph Lauren is set to unleash its previously-unbeknownst forces on New York's Upper East Side tomorrow night with something they're calling a 4D show. Our sister site Racked NY has the scoop: "For ten mindboggling minutes, images of iconic Ralph Lauren products will be projected on the new store's facade while ambient music plays, a breeze blows across the audience, and everyone gets misted with fragrances from the new Big Pony Collection. (That's right: The fourth dimension is Smell-o-vision.)" We're wondering whether the folks over at Ralph Lauren are aware that 4D is a real scientific thing that has pretty much nothing at all to do with ponies. [Racked NY]
