The third-ever Versace jewelry boutique opened in Beijing this weekend, and the 80 square meter space, situated in China Central Place, is covered in white lacquer and black leather—so Versace, no?

What we found especially interesting in the release is this fact: By the end of 2010, there will be 67 Versace stores operating in China. Compare that to (our count, via the Versace store locator) 10 Versace stores in the entire United States.

“The opening of Versace Jewellery in Beijing fits in with our strategic development plans for China, a key market where the company has achieved constant and
impressive growth," said Versace CEO Gian Giacomo Ferraris. "By the end of 2010 there will be a total of 67 Versace boutiques within the Greater China region, either under our direct management or that of our business partners. We anticipate that we will close the year positively there."
