Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.
Here is a list of things we love: traveling, stuff.
How to reconcile these two interests—especially in light of airlines' stricter and stricter carry-on rules? We like the new Lo & Sons [Ed note: No relation] TT ($260) and OG ($295) bags. Check out the video, above, for a demo of the TT tote. Seriously, considering its size, the thing is like a clown car.
Lo & Sons was founded by Helen Lo of Charlottesville, VA, who spent years looking for easy-to-use, streamlined and practical luggage for her frequent travels. "Lugging around all her various bags in her frequent travels around the world to visit family and friends exacerbated back pains and muscle aches from her fibromyalgia," says the website. "Traveling light became a matter of life and limb."
Lo teamed up with her two sons, both DJs with backgrounds in product design and advertising, to create the TT and OG bags—two light, modern pieces of hand luggage that have specialized compartments to fit all the knick-knacks we need to get through a day/weekend/week.
