New, 5 comments

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

Welcome to Working It, where Racked takes street style to the next level—the office. The litmus test of a true fashionista is how she (or he) rocks her style on any old day to work. Forget the pedestrian khakis and a button downs—these fashionable professionals take the office dress code to a whole other dimension. Quick, somebody call HR!

This week's stop: The new offices of Beauty Blitz, the first online beauty magazine founded by the fabulous Polly Blitzer. The former InStyle beauty editor heads up a bevy of lovely and knowledgeable editors who expertly dish on beauty tips and tricks, plus recruit celeb contributors like Iman and Katie Cassidy, a.k.a. Gossip Girl's Juliet Sharp. Polly Blitzer and her fashion-forward team strike a pose and share a few insider tips on their fave products with us.

Polly Blitzer, Founder: "I love No Frizz Styling Creme by Living Proof. It’s just this subtle lemony-scented cream that you put into damp hair and comb through. You could dry it in a convertible, you could dry it under a dryer, you could dry it with a brush, but no matter how you dry it, you don’t get frizz."

Polly is wearing Misty leggings in camo green (that she likens to "full-length suede Spanx") by True Religion; a decade-old and still in fantastic shape leopard-print blouse from Forever 21; peep-toe platforms (giving a peek at her Nars-hued and "sparkling manischewitz"-reminiscent pedi) by Sergio Rossi; turquoise cabochon necklace by Ben-Amun; dragon necklace by Kenneth J. Lane from Gilt.com; gold chain from Aqua - Bloomingdales; vintage Gold bangle from Polly's great-grandmother; ring by Made Her Think for Club Monaco; large quilted grained calfskin tote by Chanel from Bergdorf Goodman; and custom "Call Her Fiancee" nail color by Essie.

Kaitlyn Dreyling, Beauty Editor: "My nail polish is the limited edition Chanel Riva. I really like it. It's like a fun splash of color for the winter."

Kaitlyn is wearing a dress from Urban Outfitters; a cardigan from J. Crew; platform sandals also from J. Crew; textured tights by Cynthia Rowley; studded headband by France Luxe; and necklace and earrings by Kate Spade.

Wendy Rodewald, Senior Online Editor: "I'm loving the Tarte natural lip stain pencil in Moody. I like it because it’s somewhere between a lip stick and gloss. It’s this really cool, crayon stick that’s really easy to apply. It stays on because it has a bit of a stain property so it doesn’t wear off as quickly as a gloss."

Wendy is wearing a skirt by Zara; shirt by Banana Republic; vintage scarf from Beacon's Closet; tights by Calvin Klein; boots by Frye; twisted chain bracelet by Giles & Brother; and vintage necklace paired with another from Mini Market in Williamsburg.
