London's CassettePlaya Gives Ken a New Look for His 50th Birthday

Enough with all the Barbie fashion collaborations—Ken wants in on the action! And boy is he going to get it during this upcoming fashion week season. London-based label CassettePlaya will be releasing a CP x Ken capsule collection—launching exclusively at Colette in Paris during fashion week. Have you ever seen CassettePlaya clothes? Let's just say they're a lot more colorful and street than Ken's usual 70s-ish metrosexual look. So why did the two team up?

"Ken is the ultimate boyfriend," says CassettePlaya designer Carri Munden, "My ultimate boyfriend is fearless and intelligent, and has individual style; a warrior! I wanted to celebrate Ken's history, while showing another side to him that maybe hasn't been seen before. Every girl loves a bad boy—even Barbie!"

Ken turns 50 in 2011—he was born March 11, 1961 in Willows, Wisconsin and is exactly two years and two days younger than longtime on-and-off girlfriend Barbie.
