Give 'em Elle

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

Will Elle's new sister pubs be Bazaar, Esquire, and Good Housekeeping? Or will they be Life & Style, Woman's World, and In Touch? According to WWD, "Elle’s French owner, Lagardère, is believed to have two offers for its publishing portfolio, one from Hearst and one from Germany’s Bauer Publications. Reportedly, Bauer has proposed 650 million euros to 700 million euros, or $850.3 million to $915.7 million at current exchange. There are a few roadblocks in the way of a sale, namely control over Elle, but sources said a deal (if it happens) won’t happen until after the holidays." [WWD]
