Avelon by Central St. Martins Grad Erik Frenken Bows This Spring

New, 1 comment

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

This spring, Central St. Martins MA Fashion grad Erik Frenken (who spent years post-CSM working as a designer at Viktor & Rolf) will launch Avelon—a modern, wearable, concept-driven label that combines raw, deconstructed edginess with affordability. Avelon describes itself as:

Luxury garments with an edge combining delicate elements with a couple of rough touches and some devil in the details. We like to describe this our type of fashion as the 'Duck-taped Cocktail dress'. Even though we want our clothes to be realistic and affordable, they should always be special and distinguished. We've got a whole photo gallery of the spring collection after the jump. What do you think? Avelon will launch Stateside at Opening Ceremony.
