Designer Julien MacDonald is Launching a Line of Hairstyling Tools

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

Things we learned about Julien MacDonald from this kind of weird monologue video: once upon a time he bought a Mexican poncho and went to his hairdresser to get his hair dyed bright pink. He love chocolate and ice cream, Marilyn Monroe and Grace Jones, black clothes and big hair. So he's teamed up with UK hairstyling tools manufacturer Comet to create a capsule collection of tools—including a signature MacDonald butterfly-covered hairdryer and flatiron.
