Cozy, Sumptuous, Elegant, Sexy: Adam Makes Us Long for Fall

Designer Adam Lippes held his Adam Fall 2010 show on the Promenade at Bryant Park this afternoon. Erin Lucas, formerly of MTV's The City, was seated in the front row, showing her support in a gold beaded Adam tunic dress, as was Paper Magazine's Mickey Boardman. We watched blogger Bryanboy saunter in sporting a fabulous Louis Vuitton pouch and sleek shades and socialite and bag designer Tinsley Mortimer was quickly seated just before the lights went down.

Adam's collection of 36 looks, inspired by a painting of a parachute jumper by Isca Greenfield-Sanders, was a stunning mix of colors, textures and intricate details. The first look out was a innovative take on a tank dress, made of caramel leather with a pleated back, setting the stage for more to come. Embellishments of beautifully detailed beading, sequins and sexy studs were worked into dresses, tops and skirts. The outerwear looked cozy and flattering - tailored leather bombers and aviators with shearling collars and an elegant white wool and cashmere coat with lambswool cuffs. The fabrics and knits were all warm and sumptuous - cashmere, soft merino wools, angora, chiffon and silk. The dresses were elegant and sexy—from beaded and belted tunic numbers to the ruched red mini-dress with the full skirt and of course the finale strapless floor length black chiffon dress with cloud embroidery.

After the show, we caught up with Erin Lucas as she raved about the show and wanted everything. Of course we had to ask her thoughts on the latest reality TV drama and she bashfully admitted to being an "HD TV whore". She couldn't help but politely correct us from referring to the genre as "reality", so we conceded to "docudrama" instead.
