Nicole Miller's Ladies Are All Leather and Legwarmers

New, 1 comment

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

Celebs including Amber Rose, Richie Rich, Kelly Rutherford, Beth Stern, and Bai Ling graced the front row at Nicole Miller's fall-winter 2010 show—a collection that evoked New York, in every sense of the word—one for very put together and extremely confident, sexy women.

The first looks focused on winter dressing in neutral colors, including pieces such as an olive leather coat and thick, grey, and black two-tone leggings. Then there was a peppering of a velvety blue color before Miller delved into what she does best: body-conscious dresses. Miller put a spin on the conventional leather jacket with sharp angled panels and strong shoulders.

In case you didn't realize that the collection was designed for women living busy lives in a metropolis, Miller sent looks down the runway printed with black and white cityscapes. And the leggings with the little armor-like plates down the front? We're guessing they're for kneeing your way into a subway car at rush hour.
