With celebrities like Jessica Biel, Estelle, Nigel Barker, and fashion editors Anna Wintour, Joe Zee and Kate Lanphear in attendance, the William Rast show at Cedar Lake last night was the place to be. William Rast threw its audience into the American backwoods—the screen at the top of the runway displayed a jumbled American flag, the electric guitar as well as the drums of the live band boomed, and racoon tails flailed. Yes, racoon tails.

Justin Timberlake and BFF-partner Trace Ayala showed olive military jackets and pants, leather, fringed leather, fur, ruffles, slight sequins, denim, native american prints, some heavy knitting, velvet harem pants, and grey wool pea coats. Some pieces were draped with long swathes of wool over the shoulder. It felt as if the models ought to be stomping a dirt road in the deep south as pick up trucks roll past.-by Lauren Frankfort
