Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.
"Heritage" is the haute word on everyone's lips this season, and Gant is leading the pack this March with the opening of its first Gant Rugger standalone store at 353 Bleecker Street in New York. Going back to the label's manufacturing roots, the store takes inspiration from the original Gant Shirtmakers, circa. 1949, and store fixtures mimic its old factory facilities. We love the dressing rooms in the foreman or managers "office" in the back—offices modeled after founder Bernard Gant's workspace.
