Carolina Herrera Goes Global

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

Carolina Herrera, the impossibly chic doyenne of the New York fashion scene, opens a new store in Mayfair, London. The CH lifestyle boutique is new to the British market. And while Herrera is huge in the United States—it was a favorite of Jacqueline Onassis and is often worn by Anna Wintour, its reputation abroad is based mostly on its beauty products, namely fragrances, and accessories. The label is already a huge hit in other parts of Europe outside the UK—in Spain, for example, CH logo handbags are as ubiquitous as Coach. “This is our fourth CH boutique,” explains Herrera Snr of the brand’s first London shop, “and we have another 18 opening around the world this year. We’re going global.” [Telegraph]
