Sportswear label Fred Perry has a long history of fashionable collaborations—the company's worked with the likes of Raf Simons, Comme des Garcons, and Stussy. Now, Fred Perry's decided to up their fashion ante by working with—wait for it—Amy Winehouse. What? Yeah. This is how they explained it: “Amy has been wearing Fred Perry for years, so we were aware she was a genuine fan of the brand,” said Richard Martin, Fred Perry’s marketing director. “Amy has a unique sense of style that reflects the brand’s own historical reference points.” Okay, then. (Side note: Oddly enough, Amy Winehouse's official site seems to have been taken over with promo for up-and-comer Dionne Bromfield.) [WWD]
