Look Who We Found: Christian Siriano at his Trunk Show, The Gallerie

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

Fashion in Aspen means chic Vuitton ski sweaters, five-figure Ralph Lauren handbags, sparkling Dior jewelry, and Gucci goggles. It also means Christian Siriano. The Project Runway shooting star was in town this weekend meeting clients and fans at his trunk show at The Gallerie, a multi-label boutique in town that stocks brands such as Alexander Wang, Vena Cava, Trovata, Catherine Malandrino, and Shipley & Halmos.

We caught up with him Sunday afternoon, where he told us he'd taken lots of pre-orders for his spring 2010 metallic trench coats and dresses, as well as his "Oceanic" print pieces. "The Aspen customer is interested in color and fabric," he says. "They loved the linens, they loved touching the pieces." Christian Siriano's spring collection is sold nationwide at Saks Fifth Avenue and on his website.
