Today in Recycled Rumors: Alber Elbaz to Succeed Karl at Chanel

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

We've heard this before—last spring, to be precise—but the rumor mill is spinning out of control again with word that Alber Elbaz is soon-to-be announced as Karl Lagerfeld's successor at the helm of Chanel. Grazia says it all started with a series of tweets by Tommy Ton about a secret he'd heard during Paris Fashion Week. The tweets have since been removed.

We at grazia.com.au think we might know what this earth-shattering news might be – with rumours circulating that Karl Lagerfeld’s tenure at Chanel is coming to an end and none other than Alber Elbaz will be announced as his successor. There’s no doubt the talented Lanvin designer is more than capable of filling Big Karl’s CC-logoed shoes. Stay tuned for the official announcement, which is expected to come very, very soon?
Does Grazia know something we don't?
