In the United States, it's hard to imagine a corner of the world where The Gap is not already a ubiquitous retail presence, but the company has just announced that it will open its first namesake flagship in Australia this August. The Gap will open in Melbourne this summer, and plans an expansion of between 10 and 15 stores throughout the country over the next three to four years. "They really appreciate casual American style. There is a really nice hole in the market," Gap VP Stefan Laban told Reuters. [Reuters]
