When designer Deborah Zee went shopping for a protective case for her new iPhone, she couldn't find anything that suited—so she made her own, encrusting her smartphone with Swarovski crystals and girly charms. These days, Zee customizes both phones and sneakers—for everyone from normal people to celebs:
I am working on a special, one-of-a-kind shoe for Taboo from the Black Eyed Peas. I’ve been lucky enough to work with celebrity clients who invite me to concerts and to hang out with them to really absorb their personality and style. I meet with their stylists, band members, fans, etc., and work together to create amazing custom designs. This shoe I am working on will be featured in his March 30 concert at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.· Turning iPhones into jewelry [FFF]
