Racked reader Secrett Agent has a first-hand account of the American Apparel Rummage Sale Riot debacle that took place in London earlier today.
Indeed, it was MANIC. Secrett Agent got down there at 10.30am (it started at 10.00am) and as you can see from the photos below, there were a LOT of people. No queuing system. Just a mob of American Apparel fans, eager to get in and snap up a bargain or twenty. But after letting just 100 people (those who got in said it was wick), things kicked off in the crowd, peeps got crushed, the police got involved and it alllll went down hill. Sadly, the sale has been closed down for today but there are plans to reopen tomorrow.Check the event's Facebook page for updates on reopening. Currently, the site just says:
!!!!!!!!!WE'VE BEEN TEMPORARILY SHUT DOWN BY THE POLICE. We're trying to get this reopened for you as soon as possible. Stayed tuned to this page or Twitter for updates. They are concerned about the crowd outside the venue for the time being so if you can disperse, please do. Thank you. We know you're excited and won't let you down!!!!!!!!!and gives a discount code (LNDNRMG25) to save 25% on the American Apparel UK website.
