Lori Goldstein Dishes on How To Get Instantly Chic This Spring

Introducing Racked National's first celebrity guest blogger: Lori Goldstein. One of the most iconic fashion stylists of our time, Lori is also one of the most sought-after creative visionaries in the industry.

She's worked with celebrities including Madonna, Demi Moore, Julianne Moore, and Anne Hathaway, has held the position of Contributing Editor at Italian Vogue and Allure, and has worked as a creative consultant for brands including Vera Wang, Nina Ricci, Carolina Herrera, BCBG, and TSE. Lori currently has a featured fashion line with QVC called Logo Instant Chic.

I always transform from winter doldrums to spring heaven from the inside out: Mind-Body-Spirit-Fashion.

My dream is to head to the We Care Spa in the heart of the Cali Desert for a week of relaxation, gorgeous desert air, and the best juice cleanse around. If my schedule doesn’t allow, then the BluePrintCleanse is a great stay-where-you-are alternative.

Then it’s time for the outside (Love!). Spring always begins with a great haircut and new-be-daring color. For me, it’s been for over 20 years with the great stylist, Orlando Pita. And now it’s at his wonderful little oasis in the meatpacking district, called Orlo. Having your hair done is like a major shopping spree for the season—and you get to wear it every day!

I don’t wear a lot of makeup during the day, but love my lipsticks: changing the color of your lipstick is a great accessory. I love everything from my deep YSL reds—Number 25 is a fave—to my Covergirl Outlast lip-stains. Mani-pedis are a must for summer, and being in the biz I’m usually a little ahead of the game, so I’m saying goodbye to the mattes and am obsessed with the iridescents right now...like Deborah Lippmann's “Wicked Game” or “Pump Up the Jam."

High or low, a new bag, a new shoe—you’re halfway there! They’re what ground our wardrobe for the season. I’m in love with my new Celine tote and my Marsell slip on men’s flats.

My style philosophy is layer, mix and have fun! I always start with my fabz in delish colors or with jewels—and onto the great tee, which is, without a doubt, the fashion essential. My other must haves are my Zara striped blazer or military jacket, and I live in my Converse all summer long—to walk the great streets of NYC with my beloved Lucy (above)—look for the new pastels and zebra print with paillettes.

And last, when that sun is hot and you want a treat in central park, the Wholefoods lime frozen fruit bar is the It-bar!
