In Paris' Footsteps: La Jolla's Fashion Film Festival This Weekend

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

This is really cool, and makes us sad we're not in San Diego right now: This weekend marks the first (of, hopefully, many) La Jolla Fashion Film Festival—a two-day extravaganza of film shorts about fashion and directed by luminaries including Karl Lagerfeld, Bruce Weber, Christian Louboutin, and Marc Bouwer.

The film festival will feature 21 shorts by 16 directors. "Think Academy Awards: we will have two presenters introducing the director and the film," said festival producer Fred Sweet. "Our goal is to make La Jolla Fashion Film Festival an international event."

The $50 tickets for Friday's events are already sold out, but $25 tickets for Saturday's seminars and festivities are still available.
