Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.
Exhibit 1: Note the trendy Furla "Elisabeth" chain hobo bag (above). The one on the left sold out immediately at Gilt's online sample sale yesterday. Missed it? Don't fret. The same bag is $10 cheaper in today's Ideeli sample sale.
Exhibit 2: The Furla "Salome" hobo bag failed to sell in Gilt's sale yesterday—which is still going on today, if just for a few hours. Today, Ideeli will see if it can move the same bag—for $35 less than Gilt's price.
Lesson? It always pays to price-shop, even when you think you're getting a steal.
