Introducing Racked National's first celebrity guest blogger: Lori Goldstein. One of the most iconic fashion stylists of our time, Lori is also one of the most sought-after creative visionaries in the industry.
She's worked with celebrities including Madonna, Demi Moore, Julianne Moore, and Anne Hathaway, has held the position of Contributing Editor at Italian Vogue and Allure, and has worked as a creative consultant for brands including Vera Wang, Nina Ricci, Carolina Herrera, BCBG, and TSE. As we get into spring (cleaning!), it's always great to get a major facial. I'm in love with Isabelle Bellis', but if you can't get to her, I recommend after a hard day's work, come home and put on your SK-II Facial Treatment Masks—it's heaven, and turns your home into an instant spa. Not to mention you feel like you've just had a two-hour massage.
Then, of course, you can't leave home without your SPF—we've been told that enough now—I love Cle de Peau Refining Fluid Foundation with SPF 24. So thin and smooth, not greasy and incredibly light, with perfect coverage. Then I'm ready to hit the streets.
There's nothing like springtime in New York—it's the best time to just walk and explore. The energy is palpable, but you must have your fab shades on to protect you from those harsh UV rays. This year, I found two new faves: Oliver Goldsmith and Salt. They're the perfect combo of cool and chic.
I'm obsessed with my NYC parks: Madison Park, Hudson Park, and, of course, Central Park. And I love just hanging out and walking along Manhattan's west side. You can literally walk for miles, making it hard to go inside on these gorgeous days. But one must eat! Slice is the new perfect pizza place—everything is fresh and this parlor offers everything from the classic slice to a make-your-own vegan wheat-free pizza. And it is deeelish!
Broadway is such an amazing treat to have in the city. I love going to plays. They really transform you right out of your life and into a whole other world. I've been seeing everything from Promises, Promises to Next to Normal. And upcoming, I can't wait to see Red and anything Christopher Walken (A Behanding in Spokane).
I go from my days in the park to my nights on Broadway with just a great piece of jewelry to transform my look. Try my earth-tone side cluster necklace ($49) at QVC.com. It makes me happy at the end of the day.
P.S. This week I've been working with the Council of Fashion Designers of America styling the upcoming CFDA Fashion Awards portfolio with all the amazing people nominated and receiving special awards—Marc Jacobs, Michael Kors, and Iman among so many talented others. You too can take part in voting! The public vote is back: click here to vote.
