Solange Azagury-Partridge Bridal Collection: A One Carrot Ring

New, 1 comment

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

Gentlemen: be advised that, in a proposal sort of a situation, you should only present jewelry designer Solange Azagury-Partridge's one-carrot ring (above)—from her soon-to-launch "Tough Love" bridal collection—to your intended bride if she has a fantastic sense of humor. (Having a back-up engagement ring with an actual diamond handy might also be a good idea.)

"It's just a little joke, really," Azagury-Partridge told WWD. "You can even have the five-carrot ring, if you wanted. I could put five carrots there."

Those who adore Solange Azagury-Partridge's eponymous whimsical jewelry collection will appreciate her eccentric, literal take on the institution of marriage, courtship, engagement, and all those social rituals. "Tough Love," the 30-piece bridal collection, launches this May and will be priced from $1,500 to $226,000.

"The thing about love is that it's not all birds tweeting in trees, is it?" Azagury-Partridge said about the collection name. "Some parts are tougher than others, and, if you want to hold the love, it can be hard at times."
