Archive 1887's New T-Shirts Feature Iconic and Never-Before-Seen Images from Sony Music's Archives

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

Launching this week: Archive 1887, a new T-shirt line with a vintage look. The shirts feature rare photographic prints culled from the Sony Music archives. The images feature legendary musicians and icons including Johnny Cash, Sly and the Family Stone, David Bowie, and Janis Joplin.

Bonus feature: Every T-shirt comes with a tag that has a code that can be entered at the Archive 1887 website. The code unlocks a streaming playlist from the Sony catalog, along with information on the artist, and more details on the image used on the shirt.
