Isabella Blow's Alexander McQueen and Philip Treacy Up For Auction

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

On September 15, the late, great Isabella Blow's priceless collection of Alexander McQueen, Philip Treacy hats, and shoes by Manolo Blahnik will be auctioned by Christie's in South Kensington, London.

Over 90 McQueen outfits, 50 hats from the milliner Philip Treacy and shoes by Manolo Blahnik will underscore the exceptional eye for style of the late Ms. Blow, who committed suicide in 2007, and the skill of the designer whom she championed from the beginning of his career. He also took his own life earlier this year.
It seems almost tragic that these pieces will become a sort of Isabella Blow wardrobe diaspora, that they'll be separated forever.
