Oprah Winfrey is expanding her eponymous retail concept—a little. Tomorrow, The Oprah Store will open a 138-square foot retail space at Chicago's Water Tower Place.
The new location will stock a selection of branded and souvenir items from the talk show host's flagship, which still resides on-site at Harpo Studios, where the Oprah show is filmed. Products will range from the O baby range to crafts and jewelry from South Africa, where the queen of talk opened her girls' school a few years ago.
Is this the first taste of a growing Oprah retail empire? “We’re always looking for opportunities to expand,” Don Halcombe, Harpo's director of communications, told WWD. “We hope to have some more information to share in the next few weeks.”
