Givenchy's fall-winter ad campaign is breaking down barriers in the mainstream luxury fashion industry. The ad images feature creative director Ricardo Tisci's longtime assistant Lea T., who happens to be a transsexual.

"Tisci explained that including a transgender person exemplifies the masculine-feminine dichotomy that has become one of his design signatures and follows coed casting for his Paris runway last March. Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott shot the ads in a Paris studio," reports WWD.

The campaign was shot by Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott and also features models Mariacarla Boscono, Malgosia Bella, and Joan Smalls.
