While Kohl's has signed on some major in-demand labels in the past few years—Vera Wang and Lauren Conrad, for example—it's yet to give its burgeoning footwear department a, uh, leg up.

Today, the company announced a new deal with Aldo to create a line of products exclusively for Kohl's customers. The new collection will hit stores and next year.

"Bringing this level of design to our exclusive and private brand portfolio in footwear allows us to increase the value proposition to our customer and delivers on our commitment to offer world-class partnerships in each category," said Kohl's senior executive vice president, Don Brennan.

Aldo will join brands including Candie's, Bongo, Chaps, Dana Buchman, and Mudd on Kohl's shelves.
