Rent Maternity Clothes

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

So smart, we can't believe no one's thought of it before: new service Rent Maternity Wear does exactly what it says—rents maternity clothes to expectant mothers (or anyone else who wants to wear maternity clothes, we guess). This is great because (1) pregnancy generally lasts only about nine months and (2) who wants to buy a whole new wardrobe for nine months? Currently, the site has clothes from labels including Maternal America, Olian Maternity, and Fierce Mamas by Christian Siriano. Rental costs between $35 and $85 for one or two weeks. [Styleite]
