Confession: Our whole lives, we always always always wanted to go to fat, uh, weight-loss camp. Last November, we did—we spent a week at the Biggest Loser Resort in Ivins, Utah, and it was awesome. Not just because we lost eight pounds and 5% body fat in six days (uh-huh, yup. true.), but because of the fantastic people we met and all the camaraderie, bonding, and good stuff like that.
So we're super-excited about tonight's premiere of Huge, a show about teenagers at weight-loss camp. The ABC Family site describes the show as: "Funny, heartbreaking and provocative, Huge follows the lives of seven teens and the staff at a weight-loss camp, as they look beneath the surface to discover their true selves and the truth about each other."
"Huge" stars Nikki Blonsky as Williamina, a teenager with a rebellious streak and a revolutionary attitude about body image and weight. The trailer looks incredibly promising and we're actually really excited to see a cast of non-traditional television body shapes (read: women and men, girls and boys who look like they eat food) all looking fantastic, with gorgeous hair and makeup and wearing a great wardrobe of fun summer brights.
