Michael Bastian for Gant Women

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

Finally, the ladies can get in on some hot, heritage, preppy Michael Bastian action. The designer will follow up his men's collection for Gant with a women's collection for spring 2011. "It would be easy to do a female equivalent of the sporty, clean, healthy American dude, but I don't think that's naturally the woman in this guy's life," Bastian told WWD. "I don't see magnetism between those two. The girl is more of a fashion girl, not a classic preppy. She's more open to plaing around with her look." [WWD]
