Things that have replaced greeting cards: text, phone, e-cards, airplane with banners, Facebook, singing telegrams... you get the idea.
This is going to sound crazy, but card behemoth American Greetings have actually come up with an added-value feature that makes us really really really want to buy greeting cards again—so much so that we just sent our intern on a wild goose chase all over the East Village looking for some.
Introducing the just-released Tasties collection—a line of greeting cards that feature flavor strips that correlate to the occasion.
For example, there's one card that reads: "If nothing else, birthdays are a great excuse to eat cake," on the outside. Inside? There's a birthday cake flavor strip, just like the one above. OMG, right?
