The September Issues

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

The September issues of magazines are being sent to printers as we speak (uh, write), and WWD has the scoop on who's landed which cover this fall. Harper's Bazaar features Jennifer Aniston, Elle has Julia Roberts, who's promoting her new movie "Eat, Pray, Love," InStyle features Hilary Swank, despite the fact that Swank's last cover, Marie Claire's November issue, was the magazine's worst-selling of 2009. Teen Vogue has a double-issue (September-October) and will feature Justin Bieber. Vanity Fair has Lady Gaga. W, under the new leadership of Stefani Tonchi, will feature an ensemble cast cover this September, including Emma Roberts, Zoe Kravitz, and Jennifer Lawrence. Over at Vogue, rumor pegs Halle Berry as the cover girl. [WWD]
