Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

One of First Lady Michelle Obama's favorite designers, Jason Wu, is getting into consumer electronics. Wu's new partnership with GE has yielded a series of leather and metal cameras loaded with convenient features—the 12.2 megapixel point-and-shoots have 4 GB of built-in memory (no more fumbling with memory cards!) and feature a retractable USB thingie for easy uploading. Choose any color you please—from sleek grey leather to bright lipstick red—the cameras run about $175 at retailers everywhere, including KMart and Walmart.
